I am certain it is very uncomforatble being a muslim in gujarat(or for that matter anywhere in India), no body likes a government that has a stated policy against them. I feel the big responsibility for creating these polarising forces goes to the so called muslim leadership in India, they have always chosen to force secular parties to support religious fundamentalism and weaken our constitution rather than embrace democracy and the rule of law. I have never seen them support the Indian constitution and are lways happy passing fatwas and firing up passions, only to seek the constitution's protection in the face of retribution. The one and only way forward for our country is inclusiveness and that can happen when we forget religion caste, creed etc. and focus on building better institutions to protect our rights- Yes, an old idea but the only one that works!

you have hit the nail on the head sir., Hope many muslims read this message & only hope they say that country comes first & then comes religion.. unless they say this first, every thing they want & do will be eyed with suspicion, In fact I would go a step further & say the Immams & Mullahs (In our beloved India) takes the first intiative, because history shows that fortunatly or unfortunatly the community blindly follows them!!!!!

It's a visious cycle, the leadership need their followers to be ignorant and poor so that they can be manipulated, the current situation of poverty and fear suits them well..... more Javed Akthars And Shabana Azmis needed!
