Understanding Modi's Triumph
by Pyramid on Dec 24, 2007 12:26 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Want to understand why Narenderbhai Modi scored a convincing victory in the polls, is easy to understand from the posts made by several "supporters" on this discussion board.

All you need to win an election in Gujarat today is to be anti-minority. This election was all about hating a particular community and there was no other agenda that was considered by the majority voters.

If these elections were to re-conducted with congress taking a stronger anti-minority stance and promise to drop all charges against the perpetrators of roits; even with Rahul Gandhi as the projected CM, congress would have put up better scores than Narenderbhai.

This is not a victory for BJP or Narenderbhai Modi. It is victory for those who believe india is only for the majority community having no rights for others.
