Freedom of Expression & Democracy!!
by Ismail Sayyed on Dec 22, 2007 11:10 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

So many people are chanting Taslima's name in TV chanels, news papers, web sites, everywhere. We beleive in democracy, we are Indian. But my friends, can someone explain me what do the words 'freedom of expression' means ? Does it mean that I can use abusive words, slangs, lies against anybody whenever I want ? Expressing of opinion and abusing is not the same thing. Would not you mind if someone uses abusive words against your father or mother. If the freedom of expression means, you are not supposed to react, simply keep your mouth shut and digest even if some one is abusing your father or mother or sister or brother or your friend, then I am sorry to say, there is some problem with the word democracy. Muhammad (PBUH) is much more than one's own parents to the Muslims. Why you never try to understand the feeling of Muslims when she abuses Muhammad (PBUH) ? There are millions of writers in Bengal, why none of those are having such kind of problem as she is having ?

Question to my Muslim friend
1) Can you quote from Taslima to show she used abusive language against Islam?
2) But I can quote more abusive language in Quran against Idolators. Then by definition Quran should be banned.

Don't pretend-In these days of internet, Quran, Muhammad or for that matter any other religion and its text has been well exposed. I was even shocked to find support for cast system in Gita-how can on the earth such inhuman system be considered devine!

Mr.Sayyeed message sinks of dogmatism.Taslima Nasreen has not abused anybody, even assuming she has,you cannothound her and ask for her head.Fight her leaglly sue her for libel or slandour. However guys like you will never understand democracy, your message indicates that you have an autocratic bent of mind. You guys do not want to accept Unifom Civil Code, why? Please separate religion from state, otherwise muslims like you will have a serious problem in India.

You have mentioned "Quran, a Holy book of the Muslim" as a point of reference. First of all dumbos like you are not worth replying but I can assure you and all readers that there is no such thing in Quran..

I am sure which ever religion you inherited from your parents, surely would be better off without followers like you
