the boy was given car by his dad.... so dad is the person who should be convicted

he was in convertation in cell phone when this incedent took place mentioned in "hindu news paper"

It is just mentioned teenage son. He could be even 18 and licensed to drive. why are we assuming things here. It is a good gesture by a teenage boy to admit what he did? how many of us commenting here will do it?

Man, he has not admitted it straight away. After all his tricks failed and there was clinching evidence only he gave up and surrendered. They made another poor guy to go to the police station and admit that he was the one behind the steeing when the incident took place. But the police found evidence of the boy. So there is nothing to feel good about the boy's behaviour.
