I suppose what Dr. Diamond has found has lot of truth in it. Although we can take pride as biggest democracy, that only good as the numbers. Because of the large population we have quite few achievements. However the moment we look at the political system (set aside pur preferred party), we can see and sence huge black hole which goes no where. Time and again we Indians have been utilized by political parties only to gain votes, Congress play many cards like minority, BJP does the opposite and projects itself as the voice for hindus (only few mobilised ppl). It is indeed miracle that we are survivin with such huge internal, dangerous issues. From the time BJP stood up, we have only seen religion-oriented elections and governments. These parties (Modi & oths) have successfully mobilised the common, urban hindus. They do these by using the emotional and very personal issue called religion, they show that hindus are suffering and its time for it to change, so vote them. They would go to any length to project themselves as saviors of hindus and have created many riots just to win the large hindu vote bank. You see or hear them all they do is present wrong & manipulated info again & again to common ppl and make it look like TRUTH. They arouse emotional, passionate feelings, like Modi relates everything to Gujrati ppl's respect and pride. That way he and ppl like him have ruled states. How can we ever feel safe and good for India with so much of violence, discriminatin, corruption

Thank the Hindus for democracy in India. The more emopowered the Hindus are the better for a global democracy. India and its Hindu population is like a island of democracy etween the the dangerous Islamic neighborhood stretching from Lebanon to Indonesia.

India is the only large united peaceful land in a sea of Iskamic turmoil stretching from Morroco to Indonesia/Malaysia. It is the only Hindu land which is in between the Al Qaeda's vision of an Islamic Caliphate running from Morroco to Indonesia/Malaysia.
