After media took it upon themselves that people were constantly reminded of the genocide of 2002, in which 790 Muslims and only 254 Hindus were killed, it is difficult to imagine any Muslim voting for Modi in the elections just concluded. Now, if Modi wins the elections, it will prove beyond all doubts that elections can be won without Muslim support. What will happen if some of the other political parties were to take note of this, and start consolidating Hindu votes! Secularism is going to be hit for a six, and well, after that we shall have a plausible explanation for increased terrorism.

Good Imagination. But not worth it. Now Indian Congress is playing the secularism ball. Then why this bloodshed here...? In 2007 we had more than 7 bomb blasts which killed hundreds of innocents. It is not about Secularism. If Babri Masjid demolition is the "root cause" of terrorism in India, what about kashmir issue which is ongoing right from the partition ? "Vande Mataram" is branded "Anti-Islamic" in 1917 itself!!! Where did the secularism come in picture. If secularism is to be "hit for a six", atleast, the real Indians can be safe. Else, all would die because of communal hatred. Just look back before 10 years. No one sees other person based on community. Now, because of the bomb blasts and the "public support" gained by them, every muslim is viewed as a terrorist, even if he is innocent. There are some fools who even add Abdul Kalam to these list. Secularism is equality to all. Not appeasing any one - Hindus or Muslims or any other minorities. First stop appeasing Muslims. Every problem will be solved.

In the South, some 10-15 years before when there was discussions about disproportionate growth of Muslim population in India, The Hindu, another "secular" newspaper, wrote series after series of articles to "prove" that there was no disproportionate increase in Muslim population. Now after the last National Census, when it was proved beyond doubt that Muslim population had indeed increased disproportionately (from around 11% to over 15%), this same paper chose to remain completely silent on the issue! These are the weird says of the supposedly "secular" English press in India. People should take them to taks for these anti-national propaganda.

true that.. The problem with this country is that level headed people like you and A.singh are quite few in number. Most of these dorkd just say "Kill all M's" and stuff like that without knowing the horrors of such things. I say that secularism is just in the minds of people. And at the moment, its already hit for sixes. If the people in this country want to kill each other, what can any government do?
