Author is not justifying ill deeds of westerners. He is merely saying if they do wrong, they call it wrong, no matter what the context is.
This is nowhere mentioned in the article that Western are morally superiors than Indians. Just their way of judging the morality is different.

westerners have indulged in slavery, genocide, segregation/ostracization of blacks and hypsanics, apartheid - they still do. They are not angels; our venerable politicians are responsible for wide spread poverty; at least many temples are feeding the poor; you can't say the same thing about governments and politicians.
