Jinnah was being quoted here -- "we shall see a Pakistan of our dreams" by Faiz Ahmed Faiz.
[Faiz Ahmed Faiz was / and forever is (the same one who wrote for us the Sare Jaha Se Achcha Hindostan Hamara and who had to disclaim having written SJSAHH to obtain the title of) poet Laurate of Pakistan].
Imagine ... how Generals (and Venerals) of Pakistan have shattered Jinnah's dreams.
One Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto, retuns from "self-exile" wearing stilletto heels and now complains of swollen ankles.
Another Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, who went into an agreed ten-year exile (and saw an oportunist moment and returns from Saudi comfort to make a come back, (only to discover he can be bundled and deported out like a dhobi-ki-gathari, on September 10) and then rereturns to find his polical balls chopped off so wants to boycott the elections and then asks his puppets to stand for it!!!
At such a time it would be useful to recall the words of Faiz Ahmed Faiz as sung by Iqbal Bano.
Yeh see what kind of a Pakistan was promised and what you Pakistanis (Mulims from India) got and made of it.
Faiz Ahmed Faiz's stirring call still beckons you Pakistanis but don't forget that history will repeat itself.
As Shekhar Gupta has said, there is only one of two ways a dictator goes in Pakistan: fight an unsuccessful war with India, and go in disgrace and /or be jailed & killed by his successor.
As as they say, we in India -- since we have lived, worked hard

Though the rest is true, I stand corrected on this score.
Saare Jahan Se Achchha was written by Muhammad Iqbal, not Faiz Ahmed Faiz. But both Hindustanis turned out to be turncoat Muslims.
Iqbal later rewrote the same as 'Tarana-e-Milli' which was composed in the same metre and rhyme scheme as 'Saare Jahan Se Achcha'. In it he rephrased, in an attempt to please Jinnah:
mazhab nahin sikhata apas mein bair rakhna hindi hain ham, vatan hai hindostan hamara
to
chin-o-arab hamara, hindostan hamara muslim hain ham, vatan hai sara jahan hamara.
