Nuclear capable??
by Neo Intellectual on Dec 14, 2007 08:01 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

What sense does it make for a surface-to-air missile to be nuclear capable??!!! Explode a nuclear weapon on our own airspace to defend against enemy plane/missile??!!! Sounds strange to say the least!!

I agree.....and if Akash carries a payload of 50kg. what kind of nuclear device is that light? I think the 'spinners' get carried away at times!!

Its just that the press get a satisfaction from pre-fixing "nuclear-capable" to every missile.
Aakash has a fragmenting warhead with a proximity fuse, intended for use against slow and low flying objects like aircraft and LACMs.
Next up, The OFB test fires a "nuclear-capable" 9mm bullet from a pistol.
