Mr. Chawla, It was the matter of safety of more than 150 passengers . Mind you, plane was in hostile country Afghanistan and was governed by Taliban. What could Govt do? How could NSG react? Check out Footage ? Taliban had pointed anti aircraft at Indian Plane and runway was blocked by tanks. Cant you make out the compulsions of Govt in this situation.
You can watch National Geography --They have showcased this Hijacking lot of times. In fact worse was done in case of Rubya Sayed, daughter of Mufti Sayed then Home minister of India. 5 Hardcore terroristes were released in exchange of 1 Girl--daughter of Mufti Sayed.

It was the same media who non stop aired visuals of families of hijacked people crying and pleading for their security. None of the so called secular and nationslist media ever tried to explain the gravity of situation and dilemma of the government. Instead they chose to air interviews of old parents / young spouses of hijacked people building atmosphere against any tough stance planned by government. And when Government finally bowed, they are ridiculing it. Will the family members of freed people please speak up ?
