This is why we should have good relations with USA. USA is the only country which can threaten china of dire consequences, if we have very good relations with them.

We need to have ties with US. But, the terms should be changed so that it is win-win for both the countries and India does not lose its autonomy. It is also in US's best interest to have ties with India to contain China.

These days it will be a big folly to depend upon others for your protection.Every one exploits a weak nation. There is no alternative but to prepare your own defence.

I have seen Western Europe prosper a lot after WW2 because of USA. And I have seen the complete collapse of Soviet Union and its allies.
