I am in Ireland and have no biase against/for BJP. When I read all the comments below, I really feel bad for India. A person under whose rule, more than 2000 human(doesn't matter Muslims or Hindus) are killed and is not punished politically or legally. I really feel insecure about the future of country. World is afraid of social turmoil in China but I guess India will suffer much before China.

Hay buddy
Listen, I am from Gujarat and live in Canada. I was in Gujarat (indeed just 70 km away fromwhen this Godhara episode happened. I can tell you that After the news of Godhara train burnung spread like fire people became so violent that you can not imagine. Probably you can not understand the Indian culture since you live away. And it would have been nearly impossible to stop it. I would like to give an example of French govt.French govt (who has all advanced police force and equipments) can not stop the small violence, how can one expect from govt? Also remember one more thing any of indian state's governments do not have that kind of efficiency. even during the natural calamity, only people help help not poor politicians

I agree with you Dipak. I would blame the Muslim Leaders. They emits all the poison to common followers by bad interpretation of Quran. I think Muslim people should realize this thing at the earliest, so that they can live with the other communities peacefully.

May be you are right, Dipak. I am more worried what happened after than during riots. There has to someone responsile for 2000 deaths, if not Modi then someone.

Pradip,,, really man I don't agree with every Congress stand. But that doesn't make killing thousands right. Please don't support that.

They are two separate things ...

Raj, I understand your feelings. But this is the reality of Indian politics. Things no one bothers about the human. take a recent example of Nandigram where so called secular communist are ruling. I do not remember but one of their leader said "nadigram got what it deserved". So all are same. Some are less bed some are more.

From that 2000 many were killed by police firing. What do you expect government to do,when the hate between hindus-muslim run deep. This is even admitted by Rajdeep Sardesai, read his blog on CNN_IBN.Even after punjab terrorist killing hindus and congress killing sihks ,healing is possible. But healing between hindus and muslims is never posible. The sooner you all relise it the better it is to think for a solution.BJP is not the reason for muslim hatered, muslim hatered was there and is there ,infact it is increasing after every terrorist attack.

Are you cribbing cause you could not get out? listen,, don't equate staying India with patriotism ... working abroad, sending work/money to India is more contributory than staying in India and supporting killers !! I guess pure logic is difficult for you to understand.

Dear Raj, Don't worry about the comments in Rediff as it not even represents 0.01% of Indian population. These so called "Hindus" will not move their tale, if there is real national crisis. As you said, Indian progress is hypothicated. If India does not learn from other countries, then it would be much worse than 1947 era. Nationlist movement in the name of relegion will be a disasterous proposal. We can see live examples in Muslim countries. Only handful people are progressed. So Youths, think about it.

Unfortunately as whole India never had "Golden Era" since Indus Valley Civilization started. For example, Sri Budha went for "Sanyas" afer seeing the problems of comman man. Infact almost all countrie's hostory was like that. But in th elast Century things took turn in Western countries. Probably we can learn from them and progress like them. Its difficult, but I am not saying it is not possible.

so, do you agree with pm when he says muslims ahve the first right to national resources? do you agree that the indian govt should disregard the supreme court ruling on afzal guru? of course there is plenty of religion based congressi behavior, but obviously you weren't thinking of that were you?

Pradip Ji,

Congress has sold its soul to a Christian belief system.

Together with Communists, they want to CHRISLAMIZE India so that only those two parties can share power perpetually.

This Agenda is being implemented at state levels - through the support of Islamic terrorists as well as christian missionaries by the centre - and at central level - by changing text books to be antagonistic to Hinduism, by launching a concerted effort denouncing Hindu religious beliefs, by offering protection to any anti-hindu ideologue in the guise of "secularism".

This is no Machiavellian politics, this is just what these people learnt from their experience in KERALA (where BJP is completely shut out even after Hindus get frequently massacred by Muslims under the pretext of riots).

Did you just wake up from sleep? Where have you been? Shit happens, people get killed all the time in India and all over world thru riots and counter-riots, terrorism and counter-terrorism. Look at your own ireland. I hope you are not on dope or you must suffer from selective amnesia. 2000 killed was poetic justice. When law is impotent and politicians so callous to sentiments of people, that is how poetic justice has been served in India for as far back as i can remember. BJP got re-elected after 2002 riots and democracy did render its verdict. I suggest you move on as people of Gujarat have done to bigger and better things to worry about.
