This country has had a history of trying to go overboard in showing off that they take care of muslims and christians on par with the muslims. This trend was started by Gandhiji and was put into commercial use by the wily Nehru, and then Indira Gandhi realized the hidden political potential and went into an overdrive to appease them at the cost of hindus. This has been taken as a normal course of action by Sonia Gandhi since she neither has the intelligence of a nehru or the boldness and smartness of Indira Gandhi. Hence what was once a matter of policy restricted to few areas, this present UPA government has taken it to ridiculous levels of minority ( read non hindus) at the cost of Hindus. What the hell, as someone mentioned here, why does not the government speak about the hindu minorities in J&K , NE states who have been victims of both the government apathy and local majority harrassment. BJP is not a saviour of hindus , but atleast someone like Modi showed the hindus that they can breathe free in their own country. Congress is going to get wiped out in Gujarat and at the centre too. The hindus are the most tolerant among the religions but that does not mean that they can take anything and everything thrown at them.And thats what happened in Gujarat and thats why the congress is jittery enough and apprehensive about this trend spreading to other states.
