Except people living in the shadowy world of religious fervour, I dont think anybody seriously believes that our gods ever REALLY walked on earth. There is no historical record of such occurances, neither are their evidences of such deeds.
The gods live in the hearts and souls of believers, and as history proves often, no amount of "logic" can sway the believer...
The problem occurs when beliefs conflict with the reality which demands progress. If the bridge project helps the country and the people, how can faith which exists at a subjective level in some minds, come in the way? The whole debate is fallacious!
The country has to develop. The people have to be fed, given employment and education and health. If a half-baked religious beliefs come in the way, then its ridiculous to heed that...
After all, our ancient kings and gods also faught and felt for the welfare of people. In case Lord Rama did exist, I am sure he would have hesitated a second to remove hindrances which would prevent good of his people.
As for every politician having a view, including murderers of Nandigram, its a laughable attempt to divert attention. Here is a man who could not (or did not) protect his citizens. Who succumbed to the pressure of Islamic fundamentalists over Taslima, all the while preaching secularism.
So just shut him up...and if the bridge helps, let it happen...our Gods would have agreed!

These politicians cant think about what they dont know..neither do they make any attempt to find about whether Sri Rama existed.. They are making the same mistake, which britisn historians did..They cant think outside box..Ask the enlightended Masters who have become one with existence/realised ultimate truth....It's pure ignorance to say that GOD doesnt exist..we have true stories in Andhrapradesh to show that sri rama existed...Have honest seeking, U will find the truth.. It's pure idiotic to say that Lord Sri Rama didnt exist out of Ignorance...
