Bloody game
by Barna Baibhaba Panda on Dec 03, 2007 07:01 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Why we the people are so agitated over The Satanic Verses(India is the 1st country to ban this and "secular" Congress' Salman Khursheed as Union Minister led a mob to attack Irfan Habib for his logical remarks), Taslima Nasreen's novels, Danish cartoons(one UP minister declared a fatwa and a reward for the cartoonist's head and continued as minister in this "secular nation"), Da Vinci Code("secular govts." of Andhra and Tamil Nadu banned the movie/read Andhra High Court's order on striking down the ban), MF Hussain's paintings("communal" VHP and Bajrang Dal vandalised his house)? Even a newspaper office was vandalised and burnt and riots broke out in Bangalore on the title of a story in its sunday magazine in mid eighties. When we will be really Indians or Bharatiyas about which we lecture day in and day out? Political parties will play their game. But how long we will fall prey to these games and shed blood on the street? After all we will get the govt. we deserve.
