why consider the mochi as derogatory.

i do not think the term Mochi itself is derogatory.
it means someone making shoes, or chappals and there is nothing derogatory about the word.
i would take that just like a darji, or a lohar, or a suthar..
a person in a particular trade, just an identification..
but, using that to denote that it is a lower caste could be insulting, so should be avoided.

Mochi ko Paduka Sudhar,Sunar ko Abhushan Sudhrak or Nai ko Kesh Sudhrak bolna hai aage se!Otherwise casteism ki Boo aati hai!
