Two months back, at St. Ann's Degree College, Political Science class was going on. There was a topic called "Jihad" in our text book. Our Lecturer, Ms. Shanthi, was teaching this topic in the class. While giving the lecture, she said, "Some organizations are creating terror and destroying peace in the name of Jihad". That is all she said! That is a plain fact and it is not really unoffensive. She was merely teaching a topic that was part of the syllabus.
The Muslim girls in our class felt offended. Immediately after the class, they contacted other Muslim girls in other classes. All of them contacted their family members over the mobile. Soon, their parents along with MIM leaders (and Congress leaders too) descended into our college. Soon, police came into the college and booked a case against our lecturer for "hurting the feelings of other communities". Our lecturer was made to pulicly apologise in front of all the students for hurting their feelings. The case was closed.
All this happened on the same day within a span of 5 hours.
Many of us were speechless.
If Muslim girls, whose ages are less than 20, are like this, what can we say about others?
ALl the girls come from rich Muslim families. Approximately 50% of these families have business background and the other 50% have well-educated background, with their parents working in government and private organizations.
It was extremely digusting to us! They never mix properly with us

I am sure Svaram Sunitha is not telling whole story according to her the Lecturer told that "Some organizations are creating terror and destroying peace in the name of Jihad". the lecturer must have mentioned Islam or muslims as an example, which obviously hurts the feelings of those musilm girls. Any way those girls must not have taken this thing so far .............
The topic was "Jihad". So, it is about Islam and Muslims.
What is wrong in saying that some organizations are creating terror and destroying peace in the name of Jihad? What is wrong even if she said (by the way, she did not say that) that some Muslims are creating terror in the name of Jihad? That is perfect right.
For your information, this incident was covered widely in detail in many Telugu dailies. English dailies (Deccan Chronicle and Times of India) too covered it, but not in detail.
Read the newspapers two months back, for complete details.

Why could you not protest this injustice?what were you afraid of?Its a shame on you and your friends. You don't deserve any sympathy, atleast not from me.Please note if you want to criticize the dinner you have to help in the kitchen. Don't blame the muslim girls. They did what they thought was right for them but what is dangerous is you didn't do what was right for you.
This is how Muslims alienate themselves from the other Indians. They don't consider themselves to be Indians. They are Muslims first, second and last, they are Indians never.

dear friend only problem is some muslims in this forum who are not ready to accept some mistakes of religion and mullahs openly. They keep arguing. But remember every religion has its faults.I think islam is undergoing phase of revolutionary change for good.People who do not accept or have ability to question right and wrong in the religion are like morons but remember these people are in every religion.A text that was written many years ago is not always correct in the current times but some mullahs and some idiots among muslim community are bringing bad name to the whole community.Blaming all muslims in general is bad. Please refrain from doing so.

u r correct abbas... but the problem is, even highly educated and intelectual muslims r not comming forward to take responsibility for the improvement of the society who is backword due to lack of education, population and other problems.. atleast some o maulvi and libral imams should come forwarded for the sake of their own society...everything can not b done by government. for example....whnevr governmnt try to mordernize the education system in madarasa...there is a straong opposition..whnevr there is a programe for birth controle...there is so much ho hulllaa... even for polio drops..hardly any muslim prominent person came forward to educate the socity tht it is necessary....

My effort is make people understand in this forum that-backwardness and stubbornness to not accept mistakes among religion are major hurdles to islamic society.Yes even educated muslims are behaving like idiots . .They know that these facts are true.Whenfacts are shown-all of us have to accept mistakes. Some hindus are using very abusive language and that should be avoided too for the sanctity of this forum.
