Ten Point Approach towards solving Kashmir Problem...
by ruqat yaqoob mir on Aug 30, 2007 06:14 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

1. Both Houses of Parliament identify LoC as the international Border
2. Get international concensus and guarantees on the Border (Pakistan to sign up as well)
3. De-militarize the Kashmir Valley
4. Troops to be reduced but moved to border posts and certain command centers
5. Make it a TAX free zone for 20 year period for private business investment
6. Kashmiris need to be flexible on Article 370. Economic freedom is the best freedom. The others follow (Taiwan is an example)
7. Train local Law enforcement officials. They need to be KASHMIRIS (We do not need the ARMY to fight terrorist. We need actionable intelligence)
8. Kashmiris need to participate in the election process (Fair and Open)
9. State consitution (I have always supported the idea of a loose federal system. Give more powers to the states. India is too big a country to be governed from the Center)
10. Kashmiris need to identify and quell the troble makers.
