Wow, what a turn around; a full 180 degree. This is only possible with the BJP. And the author Amulya Ganguli has smartly covered the fact that the BJP is a very opportunistic party and all what it says is purely for personal gains, leave aside the national interest. And now, with this article, and the responses to it by all the 'middle class BJP supporters' or rather 'Left haters' are having a time of rejoice. What a scoundrel the BJP is. How can one oppose a decision whole heartedly till yesterday and today all of a sudden, come in support of it? Even more disappointing is the understanding of the responser's that Left is anti national and the only patriotic people left in India are Advani and Co. Its not surprising though to see that these are the same people responding in every anti left article featured on Rediff. All these people want India to be a territory of America.

We need strong support with US to counter any threats we face. So, any option is not a harm.

All parties are opportunistic. With the tables turned, Congress would do the same.
The lesson the BJP learned here is you don't blindly oppose anything the party in power does. Hopefully this lesson has made the BJP "grow up". Kind of like accusing Pakistan without thinking... which ironically allowed Pakistan to dodge blame. The BJP grew up and doesn't do that any more (mostly!).

If a party realizes that it's stand incorrect and incorrect and changes, then it becomes opportunistic? Those that stick to their stand like a rock are in fact having a rock in the place of their brain or worse have no brain and can't think
