Leave the nuclear deal to the Little Man
by Shailesh Tripathi on Aug 29, 2007 03:46 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Why on this earth we cannot focus on the issues involved rather than keep bla bla about all else except the main issues.

What is the cost of power so produced!

Have we exhausted all avenues to get Uranium

Is inspection of our facilities same as those for China, Russia & US

How does it impact our own nuclear plant manufacturing capacity!

Lastly why is the Government shying away from public discussion in a democracy!

We insist that it calls all the retired chairman of 1) our nuclear institutions 2), DRDO directors & 3) the retired chief justices to address the parliament on the subject

This way we common idiots would have a wider version on this matter and our only intelligent leaders would have done the least that they can to allay any apprehension.

The complete text of the 123 agreement, the Hyde act and the nuclear deal with china is available here.

The deal will produce 7% of our energy requirement , provided India has a foreign policy congruent to US, halt further development of nuclear arsenal, and supports US in isolating new nuclear states(read Iran). As simple as that... You don't have to be nuclear scientist to understand this.

Yes you are right about what you say and that is exactly what would emerge out of the debate in the parliament.

Don't you see why the debate is not desirable from the perspective of a few who are hell bent on making us what we were sixty years ago for a period of hundreds of years
