On 15th August 1947, India became independent country. U.S approached Pandit Jawarlal Nehru for the red coloured sand in the south of India for export to U.S. Mr Nehru not being a scientist and not knowing the implications, was extremely happy that India is getting an export order. This sand was exported to U.S in tons. This sand is called Thorium which is the raw material for Uranium to produce Atomic Energy. Late Homi Bhabha called on Prime Minister Mr. Nehru and advised him against exporting Thorium to U.S. Only then Mr.Nehru understood the gravity of the situation and abruptly stopped the export of the precious sand to U.S. Americas were extremely angry against India .From then onwards U.S.A continued their hatred towards India till today. It was sad Homi Bhabha was died in an Air Crash under mysterious circumstances.Then the late Vikram Sarabhai who was a disciple of Homi Bhabha continued Atomic Research in India. Vikaram Sarabhai was also died near Kovalam Beach near Thiruvandapuram; Kerala which was again shows the motive behind this death. It is everybody%u2018s view that the nuclear deal is harmful to our country. Incidentally this sand called Thorum is a Banned Material. U.S.A knows fully well that India is a very rich country in the whole of the world.

I wasn't aware of it. It seems USA has finally succeeded in finding their supporters among us. This N deal has to be discussed at length among intellectuals of our country, than only we should move even a single step.

This is nonsense. Thorium is a radioactive substance and India do have 25% of worlds thorium, but this story is fake.

what has been all those meetings and statements issued by nuclear scientists ,if not discussions.last one year,there have been published,discussed debated different views on this.let us move further.there can be no development in isolation,nuclear or otherwise.

Dude where did u get this story from? Agreed Nehru was not as great as made out by Congress but definitely he was not stupid. Red Sand....hahaha u should be scriptwiter for one of thos Mehulkuar patriotic movies (with ppl like Dipak Shirke, Rajkumar)
