Hyderabad, Aug. 28: The special investigation team probing the twin blasts is trying to find out the mysterious motorist who handed over the backpack containing the unexploded bomb to cops. An unexploded bomb was found on Saturday evening near the foot over-bridge at Moosarambagh in Malakpet. However, police officers have given conflicting versions about its discovery. According to one version, the suspect who was driving a motorcycle was stopped for a traffic offence. %u201CHe did not have any documents with him,%u201D said a senior police officer. %u201CHe requested the home guard to hold his bag while he went home to fetch his papers. But he didn%u2019t return.%u201D
The home guard then took the bag and hung it on a scooter parked by the roadside. When the person who was driving this scooter came out, he found the backpack and handed it over to the police saying that it was not his. Sub-Inspector Chandrashekar issued him a challan for this. The traffic cops were holding the backpack containing the bomb for more than half an hour without opening it. However, traffic cops and police officers who were on the spot deny this version and say that there was only one motorist and he had had found the backpack hung on his scooter.
