You reap what you sow. If you have CMs of the calibre, of Mr.Mulayam Singh, Ms.Mayawati, MLAs and MPs with criminal cases, then this is the reality one has to face. Reservations in the name of castes & communities, freebies, poorly qualified and selected teachers in all schools and colleges, degrees of poor quality issued by poor quality Universities, and its poor quality staff, students openly copy in exams, buy degrees for a fee, buy anything but don't pay, if ask for payment, then kill the seller, kidnap children from rich families to get rich quickly, highly corrupt police and Govt Office staff. It is not possible for anyone to travel late night in Western UP, like Meerut, Bulandshar, Ghaziabad, etc. One CM says she will build a huge auditorium in memory of her leader. What is the need. Leaders should be remembered by people for their deeds and not by the number of statues installed. Look at the statues, names of streets, locality named after Dr.Ambedkar. What is the need for all these? instead if all those money have been invested on building good Hospitals, Medical colleges, engineering colleges filled with good quality staff, the people of this country would have had better education, better health care, etc. Same is the case in the neighbouring Bihar before Nitish's term. In UP & Bihar while travelling in trains, if you object to people forcibly occupying your reserved seats, you end up being thrashed. This is the culture these people have developed.

continuation of above message: This is the culture of the people in general.
Unless the people try to behave in a more responsible manner, and try to elect better quality people in elections, it may take many decades for the situation to improve in such States.
