No place for prejudice!

We have totally failed in exploring the enormous potential of hydro-electric power that is criminally wasted. If this fact is denied, well I have to question the competency of engineers! More than eighty percent of water is wasted into seas! Are we technically competent to be silent spectators at such colossal waste when we are short of power generation?

Nil, we do not have a real potential here as well. Practically, there can not be any more of these Big Dams coming up. You can not displace even a single person. Leave aside several thousands of them. Taking your argument into stride I would say that these Dams are not full-proof either and they can create havoc as well. The Chernobyl disaster's out come is now public. The actual damage has been far less than that was suggested at that time. I am not saying that these aspects are unimportant. But, I would rather go for the nuclear energy as it is proved to be safer than all her sisters.

I am not telling here as to whether the 123 Deal is wrong or right. What I wish to tell you is that we do not have many other options left.
We have to have at least some good percentage of energy coming out of these reactors. Side by side, we can venture to improve our percentage in all others, by reducing those of Thermal Generation.
