India should seriously think about implementing mandatory ID cards for citizens. Every Indian should carry the card as first identification with their thump impression in it. Now it is extremely hard to track people who visiting India and locate them. This is a wake up call! It is expensive....but this has to be in place. we are spending so much of money for defence....include this as part of the military expenditure!

I fully agree with you. Respectful TN.Sheshan initiated this idea while he was Election Commissioner. He suggested and coerced govt to issue election cards for every one over 18 yrs of age that can also be used to ID a person. It is something similar to Social Security Number issued in US to ID & maintain history of a person. Unfortunately, govt failed so badly to implement Mr.Sheshan's advice. Politicians never wanted this to happen. So I am not expecting this to happen in the near future atleast.

This is would be a good move to check inflitration. It is easy to blame police and politician. it is our timid nature this useless politicians are taking advantage of. it boils in my heart when ever a bombing happens ....bjp or any opposition party start campaigning for their party and its deeds....Please this is not the time for political mileage. This is what the terrorist groups have found in us. we fight when we are bleeding and blame each other. Why cant we unite during this grief, show to the world that next time dare touch our country, and our citizens be it hindu, muslim, sikh, or christian we wont spare them any more. Lets be indians first then religious then.Secondly it is shame that media stoops so low to show anything. media has to be sensible enough is what it is broadcasting. Some videos, messages they telecast are just enough to spoil our cultural harmony. Yesterday it was shame of all the major media tv's to show the families already under huge loss of their kin and interview them.
Media pls mature yourself. I kindly request all indians can we together pray for the people who became a victim to this cruel act. Can we come together and not be a pawn in the hands of this characterless politicians. Its time we stood up and be counted. If it has to start it has to be us.

no no no we should not implement the system of ID's if you do so what will happen to our ISI brothers from Pakisthan, Arabian Countries and Bangladesh. And if that is the case more than crore people have to leave India back to their contries

I agree with this. There can be magnetic cards with the citizens - readable by some mobile device. This mobile device may have features like reading the photo of the person from the card itself for verification and other related information! And the cops should be having this mobile device when patrolling. C'mon guys what say!
If some official is reading this, may be our company (Impetus Infotech) can help with proof-of-concept!

A simple question - Has any INDIAN (Hindu) did any bad stuff and kill people in any other country? Who is responsible for all the blasts, killing of innocent people all over the world. And can all these planned attacks in Mumbai, Hyderabad occur without the help of local people who support Pakistan while eating food from INDIA and enjoying all the other rights equally as other INDIANS (Hindus).
Why cannot INDIAN government take some bold steps like ISRAEL. Why not we spend our resources and time on eradicating the scum from the world.

C'mon yar, just because of handful of bad guys(tho the handful of them do enough damage, and we also know the severity) we cant take ISRAELI steps! Why should we? and why cant we take measures that make us more safe. What happened was just a face of evil! there can be others ways too!
