Salman's sentence is not fully justified
by Mukesh Bansal on Aug 24, 2007 01:08 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

I agree to sentence of Salman to some extent but not fully. Undoubtly & undeniably he has committed an offence of hunting twice which is prohibited in India. But still I think the punishment should not be so severe that it could spoil the future and career of somebody whether the culprit is a star or a common citizen. Here the question is not on the status of the culprit but how severe is the crime. The court and law is same for all the citizens.

I feel that Salman should be released with some penalty and warning. I am sure he must have realized by now that what he did was absolutely wrong. And every creature on each has equal right to live.

Can u tell if you would have been in his place then what could have happened to u and ur family. justice should be unbiased and he must go behind bars. for how long we- and our system should fall prey to favourism. it is similar to getting th relative of Mufti Md (CM of J&K) from the trap of terrorist by agreeing to their demand and allowing the terroist to kill the General manager of HMT on similar grounds. You should be ashamed of delivering such openion in public. It reflects ur spineless character

Both the judgements that of Sanjay Dutt and Salman have to be hailed. We should learn to respect the law of the land.

With due respect to the court, the punishment should be severe enough to be corrective but not as much to be retaliatory. Neither the intention of the punishment should be set examples for others.

A punishment which may spoil ones future may create a hardcore criminal who may become an enemy of the society.

u probably dont know why sanjay dutt n salman khan are given sentence to imprisonment .. their cases are completely different .. sanjay's sentence is justified bcoz he possessed fire arms (which are dangerous to his fello humans) where as salman's sentence is not justified bcoz it is just shooting black bucks ..

Mr Mukesh,

Why do u think so ? I have heard that in some gulf contries the punishments for such crimes are very seviour like cutting the arms ,openly hanging, removing the eyes etc.Definitely this is not as seviour as those . You do not worry abt Salman . The law is different for STAR category people here in India (Ex.Sanjay Dutt). The same applies for Salman also. Mera Bharat Mahan!! Congrats in advance Mr.Mukesh!!

Why the heck you support the Salman? I think the punishment should have been more. I have heard lot about his attitude towards public. Do u know this man was beaten by a common man in Juhu beach due to arrogant behaviour.

if all is true that salman killed those animals ,what is done to protect these animals .Tigers and lion are killed in dozens .sentencing salman khan is not going to help and going to send any message ,instead court should put an hefty fine on him and use that money to preserve and protect these animals .then it will of any good .this cases will go on on instead finish it once and for all and put hefty fine on him.

Hi Sri Kant,
Justice is a tricky issue. Long term confinement or capital punishment is delivered when the accused appears to a perpetual threat to the society or has done a rarest of rare crime (in case of capital punishment).

If the guy has committed the same crime twice - what does indicate ?. that he has not respect for the rule and law of the nation - So, he deserrves punichment which the hounarable court decides. Don't just judge based on the status of the person that he is a an actor. His arrogance and contempt for Indian Law has to be punished. Isn't it ?. For your info. the Black bucks he has killed are the officially declared endagred species and killing them is an offense. Be fair gentleman, let the celebrities or people at high places behave properly and be role models for youngsters - Else what do the young generation think of the justice system in our country ?.

Create a law where anybody can do anything they wish and later repent. No need for jails and the huge maintaining cost. what rubbish. He has done something which he is quite sure not right, but his sense of superiority has made him to do such a crime without blinking eye

Then every body will keep killing animals and human being and will pay fine and will say I realise my mistake, please do not spoil my career. Rather I will say Sanjay and Salamann both should be give 10 to 20 yrs prison for wasting time of court.

Dear Mukesh do u know his offence. He has killed an endangered animal just for fun. Additionally he even does not care to be present in court to hear verdict. I think he should have been punished more. I am sure now all people in bollywood will start crying abt how is child at his golden heart and so on so forth.
