I am born and bought up in Kerala and I am not ashamed to say that the communists have converted the state into a pseudo intellectual minded pro-left place. I have been also interested in the SFI movement when I was a teen and participated in some of the activities, but thank god I had something called "Ability to think" and I decided to get out of it. A place like Kannur in Kerala is converted into a terror bastion by the left and they use terror tactics to do this. I wish Medha was lucky enough to be a housewife with 3 kids and a working husband in the Kannur area. So much for your social activism. I used to respect you at one time.. but since I know that you have convoluted logic and support the political opportunists like the communists.. I am happy to say that I dont even respect you as much as I respect Benazir Bhutto.
There is a simple equation to the communist thought process.. Rich India -- > People have good jobs --> No one has time for political activism and hold the red flag --> People are happy --> No more poor --> No need for communism --> What happens to you then Medha ? You dont get the limelite again ? so .. prevent India from developing --> More poor --> Communists get stronger. People like me vows to you Medha.. one day we will see that there is no communism left in India. As for your co-authors they are not worth a comment. What do u think will be the result of a nationwide opinion poll on the nuclear deal ? Let me know your guess.

I have not only seen communism at work in Kerala, but also seen big leaders in action.
Though it started as a fight against injustice, it soon meant defending the rights of unionised workers and ultimately the poor and disadvantaged suffered. The bandhs etc became the order of the day and the poor had to endure extreme hardship. The enterprising soon left Kerala knowing nothing was possible. Once you live through these, anywhere else becomes heaven. Now "Gods own country" thrives on the enterprise of its people, despite the blackmail of the leftists, who recycle old theories and slogans.
The comparison with China is striking. The leaders led by Deng Xia Peng swore by communism, but went ahead to generate wealth. There are 150,000 having wealth of $ 5 million and growing.
The recent scare regarding toys, garments, food etc has made coutries like US to exhort China to implement proper wage policies, benefits to its labour and stop exploiting them. What an irony?
The Chinese leaders believe in creating wealth and distribute later. Our commies want all to be poor to justify their theories and hold on to power. They want all to be in misery forever.
We are dependent on 70% on the Middle East for energy. Even optimistic projections say only 30% of energy can be met by sources other than oil. All these are swept under the carpet by our commies who are high on drama and zilch on solutions.
Soon reality and dire predicamant will stare at us again.
