The publication called "Weekly" (The Illustrated Weekly of India) oft referred to in this article was literally destroyed by a pompous windbag called Pritish Nandy.
From a brilliant piece of journalistic excellence, this bong-dong managed to transform it into tabloid trash complete with ghastly centerfolds of equally trashy example/excuses of/for Indian femininity.
This hebdomadal publication which under the stewardship of Khushwant Singh was a treat to read and savour every week was turned into a journal filled putrid and lascivious junk!
It is no surprise that the real talent like Ms. Hyder that propped this venture departed with Nandy%u2019s arrival and ominously pointed to it eventual demise!!

Please refrain from making remarks that hurt other communities. What do you mean by 'Bong-Dong'? I agree with you that with the coming of Pritish Nandy, Illustrated Weekly was no longer, what it used to be. But that doesn't give you the liberty to make a general remark against the Bengalees. But no matter what your narrow, prejudiced brain might prompt you to write against Bengalees, I still love and am a proud admirer of Khushwant Singh! Don't try to break India into fragments. Isn't it enough that we already have our politicians doing that job all the time?
