Guys, I dont say that ther are no good points in this deal but the biggest flaw seems to be about limiting the prospects of developing the nuclear capabilities of India. We must not compromise on our defence with any other country be it US or any other country.

There was an article by Uday Bhaskar , former head Academy for Defence Stdies, on rediff 2 days back....He said the deal is great in terms of India's defence stategies..... http://www.rediff.com/news/2007/aug/19guest.htm

Surely look at the analysis but alongwith soem good pints there are sever limitations too. Please consider the block on future progress of our nucler capabilities too.

Before this deal there was a ban on ANY technolgy realted to nukes being transferred to India, now this allows for civilian technology to be transferred,, allows us to keep our bombs and make more from our military reactors, so where is the limitation ? And where is the future progress compromised by this deal ? Also if we test the deal is off, so it's not that we cannot test, and if the deal is so bad, it should not be a problem to you if we in the future decide to test and cancel the deal ? the option is not closed, there is no signing that we will not test, only that if we test the deal dies. that should be enough for folks who say the deal is bad, we have a provision for testing and killing the deal in the same act ! It should make you happy !

But Uday Bhaskar & Anil Kakodkar ( Chairman Indian Atomic Energy commission) say there is no limitation on nuclear defence !!! Are they lying?

There are designated "military" reactors that are outside the ambit of this deal, that keeps our military options intact. We can even look to make more reactors for military options, just that we cannot use the technology and fuel got as per this deals provisions for the military use. So how does the deal impact our military options ? We already have committed ( under the BJP govt) not to test any more as we have enough data and simulation to do the tests without exploding bombs.

We can never say that we will not need another testing. Technology is changing every day and another test might be required sooner or later.
Now will US allow u sto test with the fuel produced by designated "military" reactors that are outside the ambit of this deal?

The BJP made a public proclamation and moratarium on testing after the nuke testing, saying that we have enough data and simulation models. So ask them this question, that is not a new position that has been taken by India under this deal. Its a stand we have taken earlier so why are you raising it to this govt ? and where were you when the BJP made this claim ? Let's hear you call BJP headless chickens now ..
