First of all lets congratulate Congress that it has come out of the shadow of Nehruvian philosphy of anti-americanism. The debate is not about the deal per se. Its about the whole gamut of our relationship with the United States. The supporters of the deal favour a strong relationship with the US whereas the opposers are not in favour of the same.
This is a good point. Let there be Mid-term elections-a kind of referendum on our relationship with the USA. If the supporters win, the deal will be through and the government can whole-heartedly enter with full-fledged relationship with the US. If the opposers win, the deal will be scrapped and in that case India can join The Russo-China block.

Referendums can not be an answer to this kind of an issue. No one in India knows what is meant by Nuclear energy. Further, most part of UP and Bihar still think that Indira Gandhi is still alive and voted Sonia Gandhi for her white skin. If we had an enlightened electorate, most of these poltiicians would have been behind bars by now instead of dictating rules to the poor public.

The fact is most part of south favours GANDHI FAMILY and voted to power Sonia Gandhi (bellary). As south indians are themselves black, they kind of favours white skin people. Needless to say, South India is still the most backward part of INDIA (see their clothes, food etc). I have seen in many part of TN people worshipping MGR, Jayalaitha as God. Classical example of backwardness.
