  RE:Indians don't need N Deal

There is so much of prejudice against US that people don't seem to think what is good for them and their country. You really think you will be able to feed this nation which is bursting at its seams - what with the limited natural resource reserve we have got.

It is true you can't trust US - Keep them at arm's length and get what you want. Be fair to the brilliant minds (Indian diplomats) who have negotiated and re-negotiated the deal with the US. As far I could see, there is nothing in the deal which could hurt the interests of this nation - except of course in the event of any nuke test by India, US could pull out of the deal giving 10 months or a year notice.

It always helps to have a postive, fair & balanced mind. As regards to your reference to modern day saints like Medha Patkar, it clearly projects your ignorance on the whole issue. Tell me how you will feel if I were to usurp your land and leave you homeless (for more than 25 yrs) without any form of compensation or relocation

hi friends

Nuclear deal is todays and tommorow's need to do industrial and agriculture growth. Its person's right to oppose or agree with deal but in huge interst of nation they should not give threat to govt breakdown. Its simply blackmailing to get hidden benefits from congress.Pakistan is fighting to get nuclear energy deal, china is hiddenly opposing deal so that india can't grow faster. If bureaucracy made and renegotiate deal, they are aware about its benefits and drawbacks,i think they think more positive about nation than left.Everbody can't judge deep benefits of deal without considering its technical, economic benefits.

Firstly we may need nuclear energy but definitly it is not essential that we have to agree on N Deal with USA. We can do thru indegenously produced thorium. Secondly if for national interest if govt. has to be thrown than it should be done. Thirdly whetehr LEFT is doing it to share some portion of commission then it again shows there is something fishy. on the other hand if LEFT is doing it for the nation then credit to them

Pls note that even N Power plant will also require huge land and lot of people will be displaced. Secondly there r hundreds od SEZ's rbeing built which will also displace people. But when it comes to ENERGY resource of an conutry it has to weighed very much from national interest point of view as generations can suffer because of this. my only submission is if we want to go ahead with nuclear energy as source we should try and do it indegenously and not tie our hands in this way. There is lot of fishy things in this Deal and we should not impose it but take consensus of public on this serious matter.
