India -America nuclear deal
by Viswanath menon on Aug 22, 2007 03:44 PM   Permalink

The rift between congress and left front has come to a flash point where Indians may think that the government may collapse at any time inviting mid-term poll. Congress maintains that they have negotiated the deal for National interest. Left front and NDA claim that they reject the deal for National interest. Ofcourse there is flaw in the deal. Indeed India is a powerful nation and will become a super power in the near future which America does not want rather Russia or China. When Congress led UPA came to power with the outside support of left front, government policy changed. Communists were able to push forward their policy. There was an impression that India may join hands with Russia and China and that axis was not to the interest of America. When America was able to persuade India for joint military exercises and Nuclear deal and government was leaning towards USA, China and Russia were upset. China created border disputes and played few games like claiming Arunachal as part of China. May be China does not want any special status to India as for Nuclear deal is concerned and join hands with America. Analysts may infer that left front is probably bating for China. The whole drama is unwanted. Government should discuss the matter
