In the real NEW world, America need India and India need America.... In a multi-polar world, America has very few friends...countless enemies....It is necessary and in the best interest of Americans to work with Indians to be friends...
The US government debt grows by about $1.3 billion per day and has now crossed more than $13.2 trillion dollars. The US private household debt has now crossed more than $14.7 trillion and half of these debts have been incurred after 1998. The fact is that the expanding consumer debt drives the US economy. The US treasury receives about $1.3 trillion from taxes, the Indo-US nuclear deal is $25 billions and there are several sales by US to follow such as Boeing planes, F-16s, space technology..... The US now very desperately needs a growing partner and friendly country to make more money with depleting US economy. Also, a big voice to support its decisions from Asia on its foreign policies.
America is bankrupt. So, they need ASIAN money to buy their bread and butter by selling Nuke or whatsoever technology....
There is nothing wrong to get the nuke technology. If they try to screw India, screw them back like they have done to Germans in 1940-70's. USE AMERICA....
The lefts in Bengal made millions poor!! That's their big achievement to date..... Please.... NEVER VOTE TO LEFTS....
At least economic policies of Manmohan made millions of Indians to eat three meals a day.. I am one among them...

You have raised an all important issue of American bankruptcy and the resultant effects on its policy of supplying lathel and non lethal technology to the not so developed brethern. I agrree with your opinion. But, my biggest concerns with US diplomacy related to nations like us is treating us as product of a system which was a colony. I live with them and work with them at a level where intellectual bankruptcy often comes out. I understand that US neeeds friends who are supporters to its policies. India has never been of that kind and it has amply been made clear in its congress debates whenever I dia came for discussion. There are many such people in American polity who remember that India never voted for US or Soviets supported India through its veto on vital occassions. They also remember how Indira Gandhi did not give them any opportunity to interfere when East Pakistan was converted into Bangla Desh. It's a different issue that India suffered later on at the hands of CIA in its cover operations through hindu killings with Sikh/Pak cohort, or Kanishka tragedy or death og Indira Gandhi, herself. USA is a mighty power and more so in today's uni-polar World. India does not come close to it. We have reached to the developed stage where USA was 100 years ago, a trader stage. Now, India is having taste of positive earnings in its trade acts. We are still not a nation capable of exporting technology or manufactured goods. India is risk averse nation. It is o

The forces of imperialism (Read as U.S)have continued with their efforts to interfere with the policy making of Third World countries (Like India). Nevertheless, it would be simplistic and downright incorrect to conclude that the post-Second World War newly independent countries remain devoid of independence. The political indepen-dence in these countries has not been transformed into comprehensive sovereignty of the people because of the domination of the bourgeoisie. However, it would not do to hold the simplistic view that the Third World countries remain devoid of independence
