"Unless the Congress-led UPA government is ready to put the nuclear deal on the backburner and suspend any talks for the remaining term of the government, the Left parties will not extend their all-important support."
This is crap. The whole thing is a drama. The Left will make noise but will let UPA through. Left is seasoned at coalition politics to miss out on opportunities. Suitcases will do the trick. So Mr. Author, dont dream of any withdrawal by left. The deal is going ahead smoothly. This is just a nod and wink strategy between congress and left.

The Indo-Us nuclear deal does not have any clause which will cap our nuclear capablities and our reights to conduct a nuclear test. The nuclear power which has been termed as a clean energy is the only way to saitsfy our growing need for energy. The Manmohan singhs government at the centre is well aware of this fact. That is why the Indian government has entered into a Civilian Nuclear deal with US government which will ensure us with continuous supply of Nuclewar fuel for 40 to 60 years and advanced nuclear technology. The Deal gives both government full rights to opt out of the deal at anytime with prior notification bbefore a year. There reasons for opting out of the deal is immaterial.** So in the future years our dependency on the US governemnt will increase. So the US governments may pressure up India to line up with its foreign policies threatening to cancel the deal. If the Nuclear Deal is cancelled , it may cause huge disturbances in the country with the lack of energy to meet the needs. This may hamper the Economic growth of the country. Though we are not entering into an written agreement in the nuke deal of not to conduct a nuclear test, the US govt. may cancel the deal in the case if we go for a nuclear test( though it is not as per the agreement), as it has the full rights to do so. So we will refrain from doing a nuclear test.
In short the Nuclear deal is in Interest of the Nation in terms of Energy security and Economic progress. But I

ABSOLUTELY NOT not having clause on nuke testing means USA is free to do whatever it wishes-- means it is even free to walk off the treaty which is horrible situtaion as our down industry will heavily depnd upon them. So its attempt to control India in some very tacit manner.
