I dont know which public opinion the left are representing.Do the poor prople say, we do not need electricity. The politicians are supposed to be a reflection of the people's opinions. The legislative system of the country has someserious flaws.95% of the people wanted kalam to be the president, but he was insulted and could not even contest. Even when 50% of the people were opposing reservations in education, not a single politician in the parliament was found standing against it.Now when 2/3rd people are supporting the nuclear deal ,2/3rd of the parliament is against it. The legislative procedure needs serious reform.

Left is the failed concept, they are bone lickers, 3/4th support the deal, 1/4 may or not decide anything.

The flaw is that the politicians put the interest of the political class above that of common people. It is understandable because anybody would keep himself above others if given the power. There should be some strong disincentives for this.Parliamentarians should be allowed vote independently and not forced by paty writs. The horse trading issue should be solved in some other way instead of making provision for writs that must be applied for only specific issues like support to the government etc..
