We have to be far sighted

In 1991 everybody blamed for open economy. Now we all now the result of it. Even when Rajiv encouraged computer education in India in 85, Communists were after his blood. They had bank strike, all India strike and so on. Now they say they could not understand the impact of computer. Let Dr. Singh go ahead with N-deal. He is a visioneer. After a decade we all able to sing the same song.

I do not know if Dr. Singh is visionary. India implemented reform in 1991 because of IMF pressure. People may have forgotten that at that time India only had foreign currency reserve to support three weeks worth of import. India had to do implement changes for IMF fund to flow in.

Problem with the 123 deal is not that it is bad for India. There are experts on both sides of the argument who have made compelling arguments. The problem is Dr. Singh has not been forthright. He makes some statement only for spokesman in Washington refute it. This has turned into a threat to Indian democracy because it looks like government can sign and approve treaties even if a majority of in the parliament opposes it.
