Chernobyl does not happen every week either. And if you though there have been no acidents in American reactors check this out --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Mile_Island_accident . In fact the American Nuclear history is replete with many such incidents.

American cars are great, I like them, but I want more fuel efficient & less maintenance & reliable Japanese cars. But now I know American cars also have lot of reliable models like ford, gm, chevy etc.

Dont make ridiculous statements. Do your research well before making such generalized statements. Here is a well known incident of US --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Mile_Island_accident . And a google search throws up many more of American Nuclear Accidents.
