National Anthem is the most respected salutation to the Nation we Indians have, and I respect my Nation above everything else...but, it has nothing to do with foreigners... moreso, when people of other countries who has no idea of the language/meaning of the National Anthem, would have felt strange within them, had it been sung verbally...but in tune, they would have also enjoyed the same (being music notes)... it should be appreciated in one way that, even while it was a function involving only foreigners, NM did not ignore the Anthem and played it, though in tunes.. one should not go by the literal meaning of a particular word 'insult'..we should appreciate the respect and significance NM had for National Anthem.
on a ligher note - what the government or the socalled association do when a particular religion was against singing Vande Mataram in Kerala? is that note disrespect to the country in which they live?

We are Fools........! As far as I know, National Anthem is meant to be played during imoortant functions.Which are our most important functions?As far as i know it is Independence Day & Republic Day.How our National anthem is played at those functions? Just think? By Military Band. Correct? Do u expect The National Anthem to be played orally by the Military? Does any one consider it as an insult to our National Anthem when Military band plays it? If you consider so, our Hon. President should be held responsible for it becouse He is the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed forces? You know one more thing? Most of our leaders, including Gandhi, wanted Vande Mataram to be our National Anthem.It was Nehru who insisted Jana Gana Mana should be our National Anthem because for Military Band,Jana Gana Mana will be an easier tune to play.! What does that mean? It is primarily meant for the Military Band to Play during impotant occassions. Not for musicians to play with it as if it is a Film song? Then to Mr. Chanakya? About mentioning the name of Mr Rehman ? As far as we know , he is an invidual. nothig more than that He is not Muslim community I have observed many educated , but brainless people writing so mach of nonsense in these columns. Why we Indians have so little brain? May God help us?

Mr. Kuruvila...asking questions is the most easiest job one can do...as you did it now... but answering questions is not everyone's forte... Who educated you that national anthem is only played bythe Military on ID and RD...in which school did you study, in India or somewhere else... In every school of India, Vande Mataram and National Anthem is sung every day... Even in theatres, annual functions of organisations, and many other occasions, National Anthem is either sung or played musically. Whether the Anthem should be Vande Mataram or GaNaGaNaMaNa ..that is a past issue... today it is GaNaGaNaMana.. and don't pick on points...my reference to Rehman was a reply to one of the messages...where in I indicated the approach of our government/NGOs on issues related with different communities.. unfortunate, the God to whom you prayed, has given you much lesser brain thatn others...
