Marxism/Communism/LEFT - Failed Economic & Failed Policy
by imran patel on Aug 14, 2007 07:30 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

My fellow countrymen,
We need to take a harder look at the role of government in our lives. We need to come out of the shadows of Marxism and the reject the teachings of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, the Founding Fathers of the LEFT.

This is failed economics. Tell one thing that the government is good and efficient at (Other than corruption). Look at every sector, it does better and is more productive when there is accountability and no government intervention.

The role of government must be strictly limited to,

- Defense and National Security
- Pro-Growth Tax policy
- Tax Collection
- Law & enforcement
- Judicial System

Government is not suited for running a business. Be it the Telecom, postal, railways, Television, Air etc.

Government brings with it a system of corruption, segregation, inefficiency and lack of accountability.

Compare an individual working for the government with one working for a private firm or even running his own business. Government makes a person less productive. Take a look at West Bengal...Not sure why people still embrace communism in that part of our country ?

A smaller government is a better government.

Take the telecommunication sector. I remember it took us more than a year to get a phone line when it was run by the government (In addition to the harrassment and corruption). Compare that with today...Can you imagine waiting for a year for a phone line ?

Government cannot solve all our problems...

Kshitij,
Colonialism is a thing of the past. If we do not make ourselves economically strong, we will end up like our next door neighbour.

The Nuclear deal is in no way a compromise on our national security. I would agrue that it strengthens it. We will not depend on the US...But the countries that supply nuclear fuel and there are close to 40 of those countries. And this is big business...Don't you see that. There will be plants in other countries that will produce fuel, people working there and a big source of revenue for those countries. Do you think those countries will go back on the deal and take losses.

I understand the fear of the East India Company...But lets not kill the HEN thinking its a FOX.
