Immigiration Official and Duty
by RAKESH DOGRA on Aug 11, 2007 02:18 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Immigiration official at Calcutta might have acted as per law in sending back '12year old child and her mother back to USA.
USA immigiration official would have done exactly same but only to persons other than white skin. They will definitely send back to Asians and Africans but would have allowed Ameriacn born or even to Eropean and our officials did not consider that these ladies were of Indian origin and were well known.Temprarory visa should have been given to them.
And world knows how efficiently and honesly our system works at Air ports.

Mr. Dogra
Stop complaining about the Indian system! If you really want to know how others function, tryin landing at Heathrow, on a non-british airways flight at early morning or after 5 pm in the evening and you will kiss the palm (i would have loved to use some other part of the body, but decency prevented me) of the indian immigration officials, when you come back! If u want more harrowing experience try budapest / milan / paris airports.

For the flights landing at heathrow before 6.30 am , the immigration counters are either short staffed or the process is slowed down till the officials come to the counters. The same thing happens when u land in heathrow after 5.30 pm in the evening. Heathrow airport would like u to remove ur shoes during security check but has no provision for chairs to sit down and tie up your shoes. Milan and Budapest immigration authorities - very rude and arrogant in asking questions and vanish from the posts quiet frequently! The idea is not to criticize any one in particular, but to show that the problem is universal!

Yes they are very rude to Asians and Africans and to Muslims in particular. This is the price people are paying for the terrorist acts commmitted by Islamic fundamentalists on Sep.11 and after that. That is the reason that American and European immigiration officials cosider every non white skin person as security threat and in comarison our officials are naturaly better behaved to us.You may like to kiss any of their body part for their so called good behaviour but I consder act of Calcutta official as unfair if not unjust.
