Afterall UPA has achieved the target by defeating NDA and Third Front candidate. In fact situation was seems to be favaorable for Najma Heptulla being candidate from Maharashtra. Do you really feel that the position was absolutely climed by minority group ?

Vajpayee was not a rubber stamp. He was one of the efficient administrator. Lot of presidents were there in India like Devagowda, Chandrasekhar, ikgujaral. Also, presidents like Indira Gandhi, Vajpayee, ManMohan Singh, Nehru etc.
