TASLIMA NASREEN

from Sylhet, Bangladesh ---------
We don't understand why the Indian Government, West Bengal Government or the Andra Pradesh Government give so much importance to Taslima Nasreen. Some literary personalities in Calcutta give her importance to tackle and counter their literary opponents. What are her literary ideals ? Does she believe in secular literary writing and study? Just writing in favour a particular community (suppose, the Hindus) and writing against the other (suppose, the Muslims)do not necessarily reflect secularism. We condemn the attacks on her but the way she tries to handlle the literary sector is synonymous with being over smart. Has India become so poor (in literature)that the country would have to adjust Taslima Nasreen to square up the literary deficiencies of the country. We live in Bangladesh. We very well know what is what, who is who.
