I am a PhD student in Hearing Sciences at University College London. There are many studies publised in Science and Nature journals which says mobile phones does not affect hearing. Even the most sensitive measure of hearing is not affected by the exposure to mobile phones. There are many other factors which can cause hearing loss. The authors should have sent the research to a scientific journal and let the experts decide whether the study was conducted properly, rather than trying to get publicity anb create panic among people. If the experts agree on study, it can be made public. Rediff should only publish scientific facts which are reviews by the scientifc community

Dear Arti, do not jump to conclusions juts because you have not heard of such problems... I am having similar problem, Also, I have a couple of friends who have same problem while using mobiles... If you care, do some reserach in similar lines and come out with the results.... We all know that some large companies (especially MNCs) pay the so-called researchers to get favourabe results... How sad..

How true. Research is a fact only when approved by Westerners, else it's speculation or worse a story. Continue your PhD there & forget India. Let us poor people live with our own research. You can continue publishing in Nature or Science & let us live with our low impact factor journals
