Quota's are a joke on the society

Let's start with an interesting fact. I don't exactly remember the year, but this happened in Madhya Pradesh, where in medical entrance exams a guy got negative marks and he was admitted to MBBS based on his caste, whereas many general category students with lot higher marks did not get a chance. The issue is that the guy who got admission did not deserve it in any sense other than his caste. Think of his contributions to the society once he finishes his MBBS (if he is able to).

The government, if adamant should go with a logical criteria for reservations. My suggestion is that the person getting admission into any of these professional courses should not have a too much difference when compared to the last general category candidate admitted. For example, if the lowest score of the candidate admitted to any professional course is 65 (out of 100), the person admitted under reserved category should not score less than 45 on the same criteria. If they do not find enough candidates to fill the reserved seats, then those remaining seats should be passed on to the general category candidates. I hope this will give a fiar chance to both reserved and unreserved candidates in future and may even uplift the eligible reserved candidates.
