It is all very well for us to dump on our politicians for their corrupt practices. But, why are the political leaders corrupt? It is simply because they come from the same population pool as you and me, and this pool contains more than its fair share of corrupt people. Stated simply, a significant percentage of our population is either already corrupt or would be corrupt when given the chance. Corruption is a way of life in India, be it when you deal with government or the common man. The politician who takes the bribe is corrupt, but so is the autorickshaw driver who demands more than the metered fare. So, to be painting this picture that only politicians are corrupt, is not only inaccurate, it is also delusional. Wake up to reality. Indian society is corrupt. And, the political leaders who are as much part of the society as anyone else, is therefore naturally corrupt. A society deserves the leader it gets. A corrupt society cannot expect to be led by clean leaders.

Couldnt agree more. Nicely said.I fight my battles all the time when I step out of my house and am unafraid to state my opinion, but I dont see anyone else protesting. Why are we so fearful ?
