Mr. Ramachandran,

Have you read the full text of 123 agreement? Do you even understand what is the implication of signing such a deal? Don't make such off-the-hat comments like that without understanding even the ABC of such critical matters.

Current indian govt and its offcials will not do any harm to india in these matters. Also Dr. Anil kakodkar the famous and poineering indian nuclear scientist was also invoved in negotiating the deal.I have worked under him although in the lower rungs.I have full trust in him, for that matter I think all officers worked under him trust him.

Your trust is amazing. Let me give you some food for thought - suppose the deal is signed. America starts giving us Uranium 235 and we slowly build a power sector that is now dependent on this fuel rods. And of course lots of industry is now dependent on this power. And then we have to detonate a bomb and America stops the fuel supply. What happens to our industry and power sector?

Now, per the agreement, America would 'try' (remember, it is not bound to) to arrange supply of fuel from other countries. Which are these countries? These are NSG countries, who have always asked India to sign the NPT. In all probability, these countries would NOT give us any fuel unless we agree to stop all nuclear tests. So we now have a huge industry and power sector dependent on foreign whims - not really a good position to be in.

Additionally, do you think America would only stop at this? America would sell aeroplanes on the strength of this, they would force you to open up your economy and would create a permanent base in Indian water. None of these things, my friend, can be rolled back.

I see what this deal is, a guarantee of eternal Indian servility to USA. As an Indian, I am deeply concerned about this and your faith my friend, means nothing. There would be no Kakodkar anywhere in the horizon when the noose tightens. Remember Tarapur in 1974 and what US did there. We are still suffering from the consequences.
