Guns & Sunil Dutt
by Vijay Patil on Aug 07, 2007 04:10 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

250 years ago- Ordinary british citizens arrived on our coast in ships and armed to the teeth. they had gun powder and guns. No licence and no royality to the Monarchy. Even after independence for the last 50 years we cannot keep guns, without the Governments approval. We do not have the liberty to save our near and dear ones from others and the state machinary. We have to suffer all injustice done to us like cattle. What is absolutely legal in most of the nations becomes a crime in India. In USA Sanjay Dutt could keep a dozen guns without anyone having any interest in them, but in India where technically we are free but in reality we are slaves of the system, owned and controlled by our corrupt politicians. Only the ownership has changed, we are still slaves and second rate citizens of this planet.

USA is going through a big problem where the gun culture has spread even to schools. We are from a country which talks about loving neighbours and we stamd for peace. Let us not copy some evil things of western socities esp gun culture.

In India, gun/knife is not protecting any one. It is the strong belief we have in Karma and belief in adage that "What you sow is what you get". Whatever it is Sanjay Dutt is guilty for violating law and he deserves no special sympathy. Let us come out of this cattle mentality of idiolising cine personalities.

A problem in Delhi & North India is, there are guns all over the place. Anyone who wants to can buy one. There are gun making factories in every Kilometre in UP & Haryana, about half the density in Eastern Bihar.

Needless to say that those who want tese illegally made guns are criminals, or student politicos. Or just about every house in Western UP & Eastern Haryana has an illegally acquired gun. Crime rate is quite high. Police is ineffectual, though the score of Delhi Police is quite high. Almost all major gangsters who turn to Delhi are turned into corpses but this could be because a rival Political party was in power. However, police is ineffectual where first timers commit & Road rage a road-rage case occurs (Which is everyday).

Isnt it prudent that licences are given to all who apply for them? Atleast the average educated citizen, who is usually at the receiving end of the crime can defend himself/herself against it?

Your post makes no sense whatsoever. anyone is allowed to keep weapons in India as long as they are licensed and approved by the government of India. the charge against him was illegal possession of fire arms. On the top of that, he procured them from shady underworld people associated with the boombay blasts. If this is not a crime, what is? Please read your news more carefully.

Dude if there is a Gun in every house in India. Then the whole country will be inside the prison. Self defense my foot!...Whats the law there for?...For defense he should have ordered and payed for a Level 3 or Level 2 security or even Level 1 which is mostly offered only to the president.

Very bad view vijay patil !!!!

You want to bring gun cluture to india.

I am damn sure that most of indian parents teach / taught about values of life , peace, etc. unlike westeners who are single parents with very little time to spend on their children.
If with all these politicins & islamic terrorists if our country survives it is because only we are basically peace loving country.
