The Brahmins were difficult to purchase
by biz Narayan on Aug 07, 2007 11:58 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Many in British empire had targetted the Brahmins and instead left the power in hand of Neheruvians, for the latter were good brown sahebs. It is not that the latter were not some Brahmins by birth, by rational they must embrace westernism.

Our media would have courage to freely oppose the communist hysteria, the western morality if corrupted award winning socialists leave some space for Brahmins. Therefore it is a survival of the award winning JNU thugs, that they must decimate the Brahmin. Did one see how rediff was silent on the leftists of JNU, or Sheela Bhat's resident sociologist ? and they were mere copycats, not of any genius.

Did you make a poor attempt to deny that Brahmins were not targetted by British. ( Not the ones who could read history and phlisophy of anthropology ). Read the racial theories propagated by british, here the suppressors were supposed to be somebodyelse, British politicians who had contempt of a saheb were liberators.

Many brahmins were working as clerks, translators and even administrators during british rule. If british targetted brahmins why did they give key positions?

To run their admin they had local help and support. clerk, translator are not key positions. The key decissions were taken elsewhere. clerk culture has survived though.

The humble govt of british is a canard, which contineus till date. The colonial govt and its agents and sympathizers played a decissive role in sucking the people and a civillization.

Whatever the intention of british may be, brahmins were acting as intermediary between people and govt. They have even worked as agents and diwans. They have played a decisive role in the govt.
