Females getting jobs in IT sector, getting better pay what they never expected, leaving their homes, staying in hostels,getting complete freedom from their parents, all these are a contributing factor to Divorce. They feel that why should they be a slave to their husbands when they earn more than their husbands. These kinds of thoughts automatically climb into their minds when they live in Bangalore. (Not all females i am talking about, but the majority of them). They feel as if they are in a wonderland, all these freedom and money make them loose their attitude towards a family life. I will do what ever i want , who are you to question me- this is the attitude of these females to their husbands. All these are the reasons for increasing cases of Divorce. Also working late in the evenings causes doubts in their husbands. There are lots of opportunity in this SW industry where men and women cheats their parterners. Lots of divorce are caused due to this also. Now the main thing is money, and flirting and no family values. FAMILY VALUES- All those are gone days. ALL THESE ARE THE AFTER EFFECTS OF THE GLOBALISATION. May be after 5 to 10 yrs from now, it will be very difficult to see marriages, only contracts between two people and living together. Like Americans and Europeans do........

Though I am a woman I accept what you saying.No dought todays women are free but they should show maturity for marriage.todays woman with lot of money to spend by her own show fantacy about marriage and when they face the reality they land for divorce.Though they enjoy complete freedom at their working places still in our family systems girl has to adjust more than a boy and that is a reality which if she wants to marry should accept.

So in a way, all of you accept that for a marriage to succeed, the woman has to make efforts. I dont see any one of you even realising the fact that its not just wmen, but men too who face the same kind of dilemmas, and are certainly allowed to be immature throughout their lives, be it about their wives' careers or otherwise.

What a stupid argument. It is not only girl who gets married. Responsibility for maintaining a smooth married life lies with both the partners.Bar from islamic countries and country like India where illiteracy is so high and people are still in the 17th century where women either don't work or leave their job after marriage, women everywhere are working and happy. Any human has rights to earn and be independent. If the divorce rate is increasing it is because working women cannot be trated as doormats anymore and this hurts the big ego of guys as is reflected on above posts. And if the reason of divorce is Overtime at work then India should better check Labour Laws. As per Intl regulations, working hour should not be more than 40 hrs/week
