Systemic Problems
by Sunil Yande on Aug 03, 2007 12:34 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Long working hours in the IT field and divorces are two different issues. The new economy has provided greater financial independence to the fairer sex and that has brought up issues that have so long stayed under the surface in the Indian society in general. The long working hours in the IT World is a unique phenomenon by iteself. This is an unhealthy practice that the IT Management is employing and will cause harm in the long run. The unhealthy working hours will cause early burn-outs, depression and other health and social problems - one of them being marital - especially when the female counterpart is out of the home for long hours. I am at a loss to understand the Indian offshore model is based on the extra long working hours model? The IT entrepreneurs will end up killing the "hen" that lays the golden egg, with this approach.

Why everyone pointing at women only? Why dont you see that one of your sister is going through this kind of tough time? or one of your female friend is going through this kind of tough time.
